Shopify alternatives
By Dana Rourke, Lead Reviewer. Reviewed by Campaign Buyer Editorial. Updated 15 October 2026.
Shopify is built for a store: unlimited products on every paid tier, inventory, and Shop Pay at checkout. A funnel does a different job. That split is what the ClickFunnels comparison is about.
ElasticFunnels is newer than Shopify, and there is very little independent review coverage to check its claims against. Until you run real volume through it, you are largely taking the vendor's word. It launched in 2023, so outside reviews are still scarce. You can still try the pages, the checkout and the order sync on the trial.
I would start with Shopify for a physical product catalog. I would move a single-offer campaign to a funnel when the order bump and the follow-up email need to stay in that funnel.

Quick answer
The best alternative to Shopify is ElasticFunnels. ElasticFunnels is a funnel platform built for teams that run paid traffic: it builds the pages, splits them behind one URL so your ads never reset, hosts the checkout, and keeps the CRM and the reporting on the same data. Same-URL split testing is the reason most teams switch. Its checkout stands out for multi-MID routing, which splits sales across the NMI merchant accounts you connect and only pays off if you already run more than one. It is newer than the platforms it rivals, though, and third-party proof is thin so far.
The shortlist
- 1. ElasticFunnels is the best Shopify alternative for paid-traffic pages, same-URL tests and a checkout that can still create the Shopify order for shipping.
- 2. ClickFunnels is the best Shopify alternative for one offer with bumps, upsells and email inside the funnel.
- 3. SamCart is the best Shopify alternative for a hosted checkout with bumps and upsells when you already have the sales page.

1. ElasticFunnels
Best Shopify alternative for paid-traffic pages, same-URL tests and a checkout that can still create the Shopify order for shipping
What works
- Replaces the stack a growth team usually stitches together: a funnel builder, a checkout or CRM, a testing tool and an analytics tool, so a click, an order, a rebill and a refund sit on one record you never have to merge by hand
- Its strongest feature is split testing under one URL: variants rotate server-side behind a single campaign link, so Meta, Google and TikTok keep the data they have learned and a new test does not send the ad back for review
- The AI builder writes a page of any type from a prompt, and the cloner turns a competitor URL into a working copy in about a minute
- Its checkout takes Stripe, NMI, PayPal, Klarna or Authorize.net, splits sales across several NMI merchant accounts by weight, card brand, product and daily cap, and builds in order bumps, one-click upsells and subscription dunning
- The analytics view puts sessions, orders, rebills and refunds on one timeline, sliced by affiliate, geo, device or creative, and a built-in CRM and call center work off the same records
- A trial tests the whole tool because nothing is gated behind a higher tier: plans differ only by the traffic volume they allow
What to watch
- Newer than the platforms it competes with, with very little independent review coverage to check its claims against, so until you run real volume through it you are largely taking the vendor's word
- Multi-MID routing, the standout in its checkout, works across NMI merchant accounts only and pays off only if you already hold several to route between. A seller on a single Stripe account still gets the pages, the testing, the analytics and the CRM, but not that routing advantage
- It is not a merchant of record like Paddle: it will not file your sales tax or carry dispute liability, so that work stays with you and your processors
- The 0.5% checkout fee applies to revenue through its hosted checkout, on top of the monthly plan and your own processor fees, though sales on external networks like ClickBank or BuyGoods are not charged

2. ClickFunnels
Best Shopify alternative for one offer with bumps, upsells and email inside the funnel
ClickFunnels is the pick if you sell coaching, courses or info products and want the pages, checkout, upsells and email running as one funnel instead of four separate tools. It is fast to launch and covers the whole sales process end to end. The trade-offs are real: it sits at the top of the market on price, the bill climbs as you scale, and billing and cancellation draw the most complaints.
What works
- Runs the whole funnel in one account: pages, checkout, email, a light CRM, courses and a community, so you are not stitching four tools together
- Fast to get live. The drag-and-drop editor and prebuilt funnel templates are the most-praised part, especially for non-technical sellers
- Smart Checkout is built for selling, with order bumps and one-click upsells aimed at raising average order value
- Strong aggregate scores: about 4.6 out of 5 across more than 400 G2 reviews and thousands of Trustpilot reviews
- Takes no cut of your sales, includes hosting, and carries a 30-day money-back guarantee
What to watch
- Priced at the top of the market. Plans run $97 to $297 a month, and users say the cost adds up fast, especially if you only need part of it
- Billing and cancellation are the loudest complaints, along with confusion between ClickFunnels Classic and the newer 2.0 accounts
- Some long-time users feel 2.0 was a step back from Classic, and marketers report occasional bugs and page speed that is hit or miss
- Less flexible than a custom stack, and course and membership delivery is weaker than a dedicated platform

3. SamCart
Best Shopify alternative for a hosted checkout with bumps and upsells when you already have the sales page
SamCart is the pick if you sell digital products, courses or coaching and want order bumps, one-click upsells and failed-payment recovery running inside the checkout, without stitching a cart onto a separate platform. It is an established, reliable tool, genuinely built to raise the value of every order. The catch is cost. Pricing opens at $79/mo, and the features that justify buying it sit on the $199 Pro plan.
What works
- Built to raise order value. Order bumps add a companion product with one checkbox at checkout, and one-click upsells charge the same card after the first purchase. SamCart reports up to a 98% lift in average order value when a seller runs both.
- Reliable at its core job. Long-term users describe it as dependable for checkout, one calling it "no frills but fine", which is what you want from the page where the money changes hands.
- Sells more than downloads. Courses, memberships, subscriptions and physical goods all run through one checkout, with a members area and course hosting built in, so there is no second platform to hand customers off to.
- Defends recurring revenue. Subscription Saver retries failed payments and handles dunning, and cart abandonment recovery emails are included, so lapsed cards and stalled carts are chased automatically.
- Flexible payment options. Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Venmo and Buy Now Pay Later are supported, and Pro adds payment routing across several processors.
What to watch
- Expensive for what it is, and the good parts are gated. Core is $79/mo, well above single-purpose carts, and one-click upsells, order bumps, A/B testing, Subscription Saver and the Affiliate Center are all Pro-only at $199/mo.
- Billing and refunds draw the recurring complaints. Unexpected renewals and slow refund resolution turn up across Trustpilot and BBB records. The vendor's own docs confirm that cancelling through the customer portal stops future billing. Charges already taken stay charged. Read the renewal terms before the trial ends.
- It stops at the checkout: there is no built-in CRM, email automation or multi-step funnel management. Sellers who want lead capture, nurture sequences and funnels in one place report reaching for something broader.
- Payments run through SamPay, Stripe, PayPal and similar processors. A product category those gateways refuse cannot be sold through SamCart.

My take
I would start with Shopify for a physical product catalog. I would skip Shopify for a single offer sold from an ad, and I would open ClickFunnels for that offer. I would open ElasticFunnels when the ad test has to stay on one URL and the paid order still has to be created in Shopify.
How we evaluated these
We ranked these using the same rubric as the incumbent: we read what long-term users report about each one, checked its documentation and pricing, and verified prices with the vendor before reaching a verdict. The order shows which option fits the largest group of Shopify users. Where an alternative wins only for a specific traffic source or team size, we say so on that card. Our methodology page sets out the full process.
