ClickFunnels review

Marketing funnels made easy.

By Dana Rourke, Lead reviewer. Reviewed by Campaign Buyer Editorial. Updated 8 September 2026.

Our verdict

ClickFunnels is the pick if you sell coaching, courses or info products and want the pages, checkout, upsells and email running as one funnel instead of four separate tools. It is fast to launch and covers the whole sales process end to end. The trade-offs are real: it sits at the top of the market on price, the bill climbs as you scale, and billing and cancellation draw the most complaints.

It is one of the names that made "sales funnel" a category, and after more than a decade ClickFunnels is still one of the most recognised funnel builders online. The honest answer to the question most buyers arrive with is yes: this is a real, established product with a large user base and strong review scores. Whether you will regret the purchase depends on what you need it to do.

The pitch is a funnel-first platform that runs the whole path from click to customer in one place: landing and sales pages, a checkout, email follow-up, a light CRM, courses and a community. For a creator, coach, consultant or info-product seller who wants an offer live this week, that is the draw. Users on Reddit and the review sites praise the same thing: speed. You build the pages, the checkout and the follow-up in one system instead of connecting a page tool, a cart, an email platform and a course platform yourself.

Where it earns its keep is selling, not design. Smart Checkout is built to raise average order value with order bumps and one-click upsells, A/B testing runs on funnels and pages, and the drag-and-drop editor plus prebuilt templates get a non-technical seller from idea to live funnel without a developer. It holds roughly 4.6 out of 5 across more than 400 G2 reviews and thousands of Trustpilot reviews, so the core job clearly works for a lot of people.

Where the regret comes from

Three patterns come up again and again. The first is price. Plans run $97 a month for Launch, $197 for Scale and $297 for Optimize, with a $5,997-a-year Dominate tier above them. Marketers describe it as fine for a quick funnel but expensive once you scale, and worse value if you only need part of it, such as landing pages or a course platform. One 2025 thread put it plainly: pricing adds up fast.

The second is billing. The loudest complaints across Reddit and complaint boards are about recurring charges, cancellation friction, and confusion between ClickFunnels Classic and the newer 2.0 accounts. Some users also feel 2.0 was a step back from the Classic version they knew, and marketers report occasional bugs and page speed that is hit or miss. If you buy, note your renewal date, test cancellation inside the trial, and keep written support records.

The third is fit. It is less flexible than a custom stack, something like Webflow plus dedicated email, CRM and course tools, and course and membership delivery is the part users rate weakest. If your product is a serious course or membership, a dedicated platform gives a better student experience.

So: a real product, strong at fast funnel building, weakest on price, billing clarity and deep customization. It is a safe buy if you sell coaching, courses or simple offers and value getting live fast over full design control. It is the wrong buy if you only need landing pages, you are building a heavy course, or you are sensitive to recurring-billing friction. Pricing and plan terms here were checked against ClickFunnels' own pages on 23 September 2026. Prices change, so confirm them with the vendor before you buy.

Pros and cons

What works

  • Runs the whole funnel in one account: pages, checkout, email, a light CRM, courses and a community, so you are not stitching four tools together
  • Fast to get live. The drag-and-drop editor and prebuilt funnel templates are the most-praised part, especially for non-technical sellers
  • Smart Checkout is built for selling, with order bumps and one-click upsells aimed at raising average order value
  • Strong aggregate scores: about 4.6 out of 5 across more than 400 G2 reviews and thousands of Trustpilot reviews
  • Takes no cut of your sales, includes hosting, and carries a 30-day money-back guarantee

What to watch

  • Priced at the top of the market. Plans run $97 to $297 a month, and users say the cost adds up fast, especially if you only need part of it
  • Billing and cancellation are the loudest complaints, along with confusion between ClickFunnels Classic and the newer 2.0 accounts
  • Some long-time users feel 2.0 was a step back from Classic, and marketers report occasional bugs and page speed that is hit or miss
  • Less flexible than a custom stack, and course and membership delivery is weaker than a dedicated platform

What buyers keep saying

Research: unverified

Fast, all in one funnel building is the real draw ↑ frequently praised

The consistent praise, on Reddit and the review platforms, is speed. Users reach for ClickFunnels when the priority is getting a whole sales process (pages, checkout, upsells, email follow-up, courses) live in one place instead of wiring four tools together. It is framed as a funnel-first, sales-focused builder for non-technical sellers, and it carries roughly 4.6/5 across 400-plus G2 reviews and thousands of Trustpilot reviews.

Cost adds up once you scale ↓ common complaint

The most repeated financial complaint is that it is fine for a quick funnel but expensive if you only need part of it (landing pages, email, or a course platform), and that the bill climbs as you grow, with metered charges possible on top of the plan.

Billing, cancellation and the Classic/2.0 split ↓ common complaint

The loudest complaints are about recurring charges, cancellation friction, and confusion between ClickFunnels Classic and 2.0 billing. Some long-time users also feel 2.0 was a step back from Classic. Treat individual billing anecdotes as anecdotes, but the pattern recurs across threads and complaint boards.
