Quick answer

Pick Stan Store if you sell from Instagram, TikTok or YouTube and want a link-in-bio storefront at the Creator tier with no Stan transaction fee; pick SamCart if you already send buyers to a sales page or embed and need checkout-level bumps, upsells, cart recovery and subscription tooling on Pro.

Bio traffic or checkout depth

You are down to two, and they do different jobs. Stan Store is the store inside a profile link. SamCart is the checkout you put under a sales page or an embed, and it also publishes pages.

If the buyer finds you on Instagram, TikTok or YouTube and the profile is the whole path, Stan Store is the default. If a page you already run is doing the persuading, SamCart is the closer fit.

Neither replaces a funnel platform for a team that buys its own ads and tests the page under one campaign URL. That case sits after the prices.

Stan Store vs SamCart when the sale starts in the profile

Stan's homepage describes a creator store: courses, digital products and bookings hosted in the link in the bio. You set it up as that profile link, with the course, the booking and the download on the page Stan hosts.

The pricing article is where the two tiers and the trial are spelled out. After that trial, the profile link stays up only while the subscription does. Stan's own cut of a sale is zero. Stripe or PayPal still charges its processing fee. Checkout add-ons and upsells are on Creator Pro, with affiliate management, email broadcasts and flows, discount codes and pixel tracking. Creator is the plan for getting paid from the bio. AutoDM for Instagram is on that lower plan.

Creators in a digital-products thread describe Stan as the fit for TikTok and Instagram traffic on the lower plan, with no Stan fee on the sale. The same thread reports that cancelling leaves shared posts and links dead. Count that cost before the Stan link goes on every video.

SamCart publishes a marketing page that says Stan has no upsells. Stan's pricing article lists upsells on Creator Pro. Follow the pricing article. A platform-fee figure on that marketing page is not Stan's price.

SamCart when the buyer already hits a sales page

SamCart's pricing page sells a hosted checkout. Core includes unlimited pages, products and checkouts, a courses app, and cart abandonment recovery. The order-value tools sit on Pro: bumps, one-click upsells, A/B testing, Subscription Saver and the Affiliate Center. API access and processors beyond the default are on Pro as well.

A buyer in a SamCart thread described the checkout as plain and dependable. Treat that as a reliability note. The complaints that follow the product are about renewals and refunds, which the SamCart review goes through before a trial runs out. There is no built-in email CRM, so nurture still lives in another tool.

A profile can point at a SamCart page, because Core publishes pages and a checkout. The buyer still lands on that page. The storefront that lives inside the profile is Stan's job.

How the money moves

On Stan, the buyer taps the profile, lands in the store Stan hosts, and pays there. A course, a booking and a download can sit on that one screen, so three offers do not mean three tools for the bio.

On SamCart, the buyer is already on a page or an embed. Core can email someone who leaves a cart unfinished. Pro can add a companion product on the checkout step, then charge the same card for an offer after the first purchase. Subscription Saver, also on Pro, retries a failed rebill. That machinery is what the higher SamCart tier is for.

The checkbox before payment and the charge after the first sale are different steps. Order bump vs one-click upsell separates them. Both vendors put both steps on the higher tier, so a lower-tier trial will not show you either one.

Compare the tier that includes the add-ons

Both vendors hold the add-on and the post-purchase offer for the top tier. Lining up the two entry plans hides that. If those tools are why you are here, compare Creator Pro with SamCart Pro. The figures are in the pricing section.

On that pair, Stan is the smaller bill. The extra on SamCart Pro is split testing, failed-rebill recovery, the affiliate center, and room for processors other than the default. Recovery emails for an unfinished cart are the piece SamCart includes before you reach Pro.

Yearly billing is lower than twelve monthly invoices on both, which each pricing line already shows. I would leave the yearly invoice until the higher-tier tools are the ones you will turn on.

My take

I would pay for SamCart if buyers already reach a sales page or an embed and the checkout has to raise the order. The add-ons, the post-purchase charge, the cart emails and the subscription tooling are what Pro is for.

I would pay for Stan Store if the path is the profile link and SamCart's Pro price is more checkout than that path needs. Creator is enough until the add-ons matter.

Look past both if you buy the ads and need the page test, the checkout and the order on one record. The section after the prices names that platform.

Where to read next

The SamCart review is the longer checkout write-up. ElasticFunnels vs SamCart is the paid-traffic fork in full. SamCart vs Gumroad and SamCart vs Kajabi are the other creator checkouts set beside it. Unbounce vs SamCart is a page builder in front of this checkout.

The wider set of funnel tools is on funnel builder alternatives. Every pair is listed on the comparisons page.

SamCart

What works

  • Built to raise order value. Order bumps add a companion product with one checkbox at checkout, and one-click upsells charge the same card after the first purchase. SamCart reports up to a 98% lift in average order value when a seller runs both.
  • Reliable at its core job. Long-term users describe it as dependable for checkout, one calling it "no frills but fine", which is what you want from the page where the money changes hands.
  • Sells more than downloads. Courses, memberships, subscriptions and physical goods all run through one checkout, with a members area and course hosting built in, so there is no second platform to hand customers off to.
  • Defends recurring revenue. Subscription Saver retries failed payments and handles dunning, and cart abandonment recovery emails are included, so lapsed cards and stalled carts are chased automatically.
  • Flexible payment options. Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Venmo and Buy Now Pay Later are supported, and Pro adds payment routing across several processors.

What to watch

  • Expensive for what it is, and the good parts are gated. Core is $79/mo, well above single-purpose carts, and one-click upsells, order bumps, A/B testing, Subscription Saver and the Affiliate Center are all Pro-only at $199/mo.
  • Billing and refunds draw the recurring complaints. Unexpected renewals and slow refund resolution turn up across Trustpilot and BBB records. The vendor's own docs confirm that cancelling through the customer portal stops future billing. Charges already taken stay charged. Read the renewal terms before the trial ends.
  • It stops at the checkout: there is no built-in CRM, email automation or multi-step funnel management. Sellers who want lead capture, nurture sequences and funnels in one place report reaching for something broader.
  • Payments run through SamPay, Stripe, PayPal and similar processors. A product category those gateways refuse cannot be sold through SamCart.

Stan Store

What works

  • The store is the profile link. Courses, digital products and bookings sit on that page, and the buyer pays there.
  • Stan keeps no percentage of the sale. Stripe or PayPal still takes its own processing fee.
  • Creator Pro adds checkout add-ons, upsells, affiliate management, email broadcasts and flows, discount codes and pixel tracking. AutoDM for Instagram is on the Creator plan.

What to watch

  • Checkout add-ons, upsells and the email tools sit on Creator Pro. The Creator plan leaves them out.
  • A creator reported that cancelling breaks previously shared bio links.
  • Stan does not list cart recovery or split testing. If the checkout needs those, you need a different product.

Pricing

SamCart: Core is $79 a month, or $710 billed yearly. Pro is $199 a month, or $1,790 billed yearly. The trial on the published plans is 7 days. Order bumps, 1-click upsells, A/B testing, Subscription Saver, the Affiliate Center, the API and third-party processors are on Pro only. SamPay is 2.9% plus 30 cents, with no added SamCart fee on SamPay. Tax collection is 50 basis points on Core and 35 on Pro.

Stan Store: Creator is $29 a month, or $300 billed yearly. Creator Pro is $99 a month, or $948 billed yearly. The trial is 14 days, and there is no free plan after it. Stan's platform fee is 0%. Stripe and PayPal fees still apply. Order bumps, upsells, affiliate management, email broadcasts and flows, discount codes, pixel tracking and payment plans are on Creator Pro only.

Those two blocks are what each plan costs. The higher tier on each side is where bumps and upsells turn on, and Stan's higher tier is the smaller bill.

The gap buys SamCart's A/B tests, Subscription Saver, the Affiliate Center, and processors past the default. Cart recovery is already on SamCart's lower tier. Stan's pricing article does not list abandoned-cart emails.

Stan Store and SamCart answer a creator who already has attention, or a seller who already has a page. A team buying Meta, Google or TikTok traffic, and testing what the click lands on, is a third case.

ElasticFunnels is a funnel platform for that team. The checkout is the part that sits next to SamCart: order bumps, one-click upsells and subscriptions, charging through Stripe, NMI, PayPal, Klarna or Authorize.net. It can also send the buyer to ClickBank, JVZoo, BuyGoods, Digistore24, Shopify Checkout, Shop Pay or Cartpanda. Same-URL split testing is included too. Variants rotate on the server under one campaign link, so Meta, Google and TikTok keep their learning and a test does not send the ad back through review. Pages can come from a prompt or from cloning a URL. Sessions, orders, rebills and refunds stay on one timeline with the CRM and the automations.

When a first sale is split across merchant accounts, that split is NMI only. You can weight it, limit it by card brand, product or amount, and set a daily cap on each account. The upsell and the rebill stay on the account that took the sale. Stripe, PayPal, Klarna and Authorize.net stay one account each, outside that split.

Starter is $97 a month, Growth is $197 a month, and Scale is $497 a month. Starter, Growth and Scale include the same features. They differ by page views, brands, domains, team seats and automation runs. The trial is 14 days and does not ask for a card. Pages, funnels and a custom domain can be set up during it. Revenue through ElasticFunnels' own gateways carries a 0.5% fee. Sales that close on ClickBank, BuyGoods, Digistore24, Shopify Checkout or Shop Pay are not charged that fee.

ElasticFunnels is newer than SamCart, and there is very little independent review coverage to check its claims against. Until you run real volume through it, you are largely taking the vendor's word. ElasticFunnels launched in 2023, which is why outside write-ups are still scarce. What that thin coverage limits is how much you can confirm from other people's reports. The pages, the checkout and the split tests are on the trial either way, so the check happens on your own traffic before you pay.

SamCart stays the pick when you already have the page and you want a checkout with years of user reports behind it. Stan Store stays the pick when the profile is the store. The ElasticFunnels review covers the platform. The button under this section starts the trial.

Our pick

SamCart

SamCart is the checkout to put under a sales page you already run, once you need bumps, one-click upsells, split tests and failed-rebill recovery on Pro.

Frequently asked questions

Which is cheaper, SamCart or Stan Store?
Stan Store's entry tier is the lower of the two. The figures are in the pricing section, and the higher tiers are the pair to compare when you want bumps. For bumps and upsells, compare the higher tier on each side in the pricing section. The entry plans leave those tools out.
Which of these two fits a download or a course?
Both can sell a download or a course. Stan hosts that sale inside the profile link. SamCart hosts it on a checkout, and the courses app is on the lower plan, which suits a page you already send people to.
Do I need Creator Pro or SamCart Pro for an order bump?
Yes on both. The add-on at checkout and the offer after payment sit on each vendor's higher tier. Buying the lower plan and expecting those tools is how people under-buy this pair.
Does Stan Store charge transaction fees?
Stan keeps no percentage of the sale. Stripe or PayPal still bills its own processing rate on top of the subscription.
Can SamCart work as a link in the bio?
You can paste a SamCart URL into a profile. The lower plan publishes pages and a checkout, so the buyer lands on that page. Stan is the storefront that is the link.
What if I run paid ads to a landing page?
Between these two, SamCart is the closer, because the click already has a page and the checkout is the missing piece. If the test has to stay on one URL so the ad keeps learning, use the paid-traffic section above.
